Homalomena sp. ‘Hairy’ *Grower’s Choice*

Homalomena sp. ‘Hairy’ is an unusual aroid selection admired for its textured, softly pubescent foliage and compact, tropical growth habit. Its broad, oval to heart-shaped leaves emerge with a fine velvety or hairy surface that gives the plant a muted, almost matte appearance, often in deep green tones that emphasize its rich texture rather than bold variegation. Growth is low and clumping, forming a dense, lush mound over time with steady but unhurried development. Provide bright, indirect to medium light to maintain healthy growth, along with a very airy, moisture-retentive but well-draining aroid mix. It prefers stable warmth, moderate to higher humidity, and consistent watering to keep the substrate lightly moist without becoming waterlogged.
